They? Will never get my money again first off. They are very tricky and sneaky. They took down the signs that they had cordial pricing, I went in for a regular in. And out he told me it's VIP I said no I just wanna in and out. He said all in and out is vip...long story short. He charged me $40. And my car is half done. I've never paid $40 for a regular car wash. I have dust still on my dash - the outside. Look pretty nice so I will give them that. but $40. You gotta be kidding me. Car washes went from $10 in and out to 25. Nobody charges forty

Brought my car in for a shampoo and interior cleaning. There were missed vacuumed spots on the carpet and the center console seemed entirely ignored. I was allowed to bring the car back for them to fix this but even their followup work did not completely clean their missed spots. The quality of work did not match the amount of money spent here. On top of the service charges they add in an additional fee for covid related expenses which I didn't mind at the time. However after tipping them and paying that extra fee I would have hoped to have received quality work.

Easy to book, decent prices, meh express detail. Had my car express detailed with them and I had two mats in the back of my crossover SUV. Don’t really have reason to go back there so it took me a month to notice that my husky liner mat wasn’t there. Called them and said they didn’t have it. Frustrating to go to a place, trust that all parts will go back into the car when getting cleaned, to find out it’s misplaced and then meh response from the person I talked to.

This is the worst detail shop I’ve been to. Absolute Worst. See review and all pics attached. Left my car for the day and paid the highest price for full detail + engine bay clean up $160. The car mats weren’t washed when I arrived and had to specifically ask. Both glove box and arm rest compartments are not touched. Pet hairs are still left everywhere, under seats, between them and across the car interior. Stains are left on most of the fabric. Roof, gage cluster, and switches aren’t touched… Absolute waste of time and money. They have no regard to admitting or caring. The gear shifter isn’t clean, I wiped it with my finger and got dirt off. Door hinges, trunk and boot door are not cleaned. This shop doesn’t even deserve 1 star. See photos below.

Service was subpar. My leather seats, consoles nor cup holders werent cleaned....an exterior wash and vacuum was done and my car smelled awesome however... after being charged $25 and I tipped $15 because for as long as it took I thought my car would be cleaned. At $230 for an interior detail on my 2016 Jeep Patriot High Altitude, saying this was a disappointing job would be a serious understatement. The dash wasn't wiped ( it seemed like he thought about doing it because there was cleaning spray residue near the air vents, which wasn't wiped off) the glass was cleaned half assed, the rear view mirror wasn't touched, the seats weren't wiped (but the back of the headrests had spray residue, which he forgot to wipe off) and much of the interior trim was apparently invisible because it also wasn't cleaned. I'm not sure if it was the detail guy's first week on the job or what, but don't use them if this is the standard they hold their employees to. The only positive thing I can say is that he did a great job vacuuming and cleaning the center console. I'll do it myself next time, I could do a better job while being sick with the flu. Some context for the enclosed pictures: the car had recently been to the body shop for some repairs with the windshield removed, hence all of the rubbing compound dust in the interior.

Believe the hype!!!!! Owner and operator Rocky runs a supreme operation. My car has only 30,000 miles on it and after the clean it is literally DRIVING BETTER. Like, *everything* feels smoother. I’m a crazy perfectionist and I’m blown away with the attention to detail. Rocky was able to remove some stuff I didn’t even ask about because I didn’t think they could be fixed - scrape marks on the ext body, makeup stains on the passenger mirror fabric, and more. There was a slight delay on the car due to a family emergency, and he went so above and beyond throwing in an engine bay detailing and others worth over $200 and FOLKS — this is the way. Get the engine detailing. I’ve never been much of a car detailing guy but I’m a convert, it runs so smooth. Also love Rocky‘s vision of evolving his artisan operation into a space for clients and families to hang out, sit by a fire, enjoy a drink while also getting the car taken care of. To start off I am not a person who would usually even rite a review. I was referred here by a friend who also got detailing done here. So to start off I installed k&n cold air intakes on to my car previous to getting my engine bay detailed maybe a week prior. A 500+ kit may I add, everything was good. I called magic touch Friday I believe to get my engine bay cleaned. I was ecstatic to get it done because it was really dirty after purchasing the car. I made an appointment for Saturday. Previous to this appointment I put k&n filter covers over my filter to keep excess water and grime out of the filters so it made the filters a bit more hard to see with out them being on. When I arrived to get my car Saturday after dropping it off at 11 I was told to pick it up by 12. To the eye the owner did a great job. But what I didn’t realize is that the filters were water soaked. After getting back to my house I popped the hood and took another look to disbelief my intakes were crushed from the water and heat combined. I called magic touch to inform them of the situation. I was told that my money would be returned which it was. But still did not take care of my current situation replacing over 150+ dollars for two new filters. I was told all I could do was get the money back from the wash and was at first threatened to not get any of my money back if I chose to go another route over the situation because of course I wanted reimbursement for the filters and was told that he has been detailing for over 20 years and there was nothing else he could do. Was the engine cleaned well yes. It looks great. Were my filters water soaked and damaged yes. Was I reimbursed for the damages no.

So, James breathed new life into my 9 year old Subaru Outback. There were scratches from the hood to the trunk, they’re all gone now. He said he’d take care of my foggy headlights, done! My rims look brand new! The interior, great job. He even repaired my sunglasses holder, not a part of the detailing. Appeared abandoned. Nothing indicating that a “Detail City” was ever there. I called the number again. No answer so I left a message. He told me the building was being upgraded and that the business had temporarily moved to a different location (why not put a note on the garage door telling customers that?) He told me Detail City was mainly doing mobile detailing at the moment. I asked him for the address to the temporary location because I wasn’t interested in mobile detailing. He somehow had no idea of the address and said he would call me back. Now at this point (8.27.22), Detail City’s website had disappeared without explanation. As of today (9.4.22) it is back up. Unsurprisingly, I never got a call back. I went to Speed Clean Services on 14 Mile and Kelly in Clinton Township and my mom got an amazing detail from a business that had itself together. Website up, a real building and a receptionist (who actually knew what was going on). I am giving one star for the runaround and real lack of information I received as an inquiring potential customer. I cannot comment on the quality of their service because I never even got to the point of receiving it. Detail City, do better. Hopefully for you guys, this was a one-off.

I stopped by after driving through the snowstorm the night before. I had lots of snow up in the wheel wells. I paid for the most expensive wash and they spent extra time power washing the snow out. I really appreciated it. At highway speeds the car shook and removing the snow/ice fixed the problem.

I walked in the door and was pleasantly greeted by Trevor, he's a good guy, seems to be well educated with the Chemical Guys products. He took the time to come out to the parking lot to check out my car so he could get a good idea of the products I would need to get it detailed properly. We went back inside and he hooked me up. It took me a couple days to get everything done because I took my time to do right, and the results are definitely worth the time and effort I put into it. It's a very clean car and I'm very proud of the way it looks, it's very shiny now and with me being retired now, I can keep it looking that way... They truly took their time and made sure I was satisfied with the results. I forgot to take a before and after but needless to say my car WAS DIRTY. They did everything perfectly. My truck looks like new inside and out. They showed up early and made sure my truck was perfect. I'm having them do my wife's car also. I had Mr shine do my brother's truck too. It was really scratched up badly. They polished it up removed the mess. We had the sliver package. Wash, wax/ buff, windows and trim. Not just unprofessional but criminal. Buyers beware. They dazzle you with clean car but swap good parts for inferior parts. Very upset with crooked hustlers. Hub caps, Radio , speakers, seats, and visors swapped out. Who know what else they took..as I drive it the list lengthens!! At first I was so happy but quickly realized what had happened. Will not be back ever for you to steal the rest of my good parts off my car👎👎👎Don’t go here Don’t leave your car with them..I should have went with my gut instinct initially and not left my car. 😡

We had a good experience working with Doug. I called and left a message, and he called me back later that day; they were able to fit me in within a week ahead of a trip with the family in July. Dropped off around 8:30am and I picked up at about 4:45pm. Overall they did a great job and managed to get some chlorinated pool water stains out of the seats, which are still not noticeable even a week or so later.

They were excellent, but not cheap (worth the money, though). I got their "Premier" package, both inside and out, and they did not take shortcuts (got all the nooks and crannies, and little compartments). My car looked fantastic. Their shuttle service was drama free, on time, and service was polite and professional. The best thing to note is that they were honest- I left some cash in the glove compartment and center console (One of the tests I do to see if I will go back to the place), and sure enough, it was safely put into a cardboard box with all the other stuff. Spare change that got stuck in the seats and under the rugs- all put into the box. Nice.

Having two yellow labs and not getting a detail since I have gotten the truck, I was a bit embarrassed as to the state of the interior. Taking the truck to Total Detail was a godsend. The gentleman I spoke to when I dropped it off was super polite and put me at ease that they did, in fact, have seen worse. Unsure if he was just saying that to make me feel better. Do not take your car to this hillbilly for anything! This is the absolute worst place to deal with. Not only is the hillbilly that runs a place rude and condescending you will absolutely get the worst cleaning of your car. You would fare better to take your vehicle to the car wash and get better service. It is not an exaggeration that the owner is horrible. If you call them you will see why the better business bureau has several complaints about them. Run!!

I own a business and use this car wash for my entire fleet of over 15 trucks. The main manager is rude every single time I come , today the wash broke my windshield wiper off. I pulled off to the side upon exit only for the manager to wave his hands at me all rude and tell me to get out of the way. I tried to explain to him about my issue and he said "okay well you still need to move outmost the way!" So I did. Then he ignored me and made his coworker (who is the star employee in my opinion) take care of it after I waited another 10 minutes. The guy is rude and ruins the experience here with out a doubt.

***Update March 2025*** Credit card readers are consistently broken, self service bays are always flooded. Do better lighthouse. **Update May 2023** Lighthouse has done some major upgrades to the parking lot and vacuums. Vacuums are free between 8am and 5pm. There are now dual hoses on them with the traditional flat extension and also a crevice tool. There is also a place to clamp your floor mats. I should also add that when you go through this wash, there are always two people spraying off the car. They spray with power washers then wipe the front and back of vehicles with big brushes before you go into the machine. This is a well-established car wash that's great for auto-washing or DIY. They have 5 bays in back of the property where you can spray off your car yourself. It's covered and costs about 2 bucks to start. They maintain their equipment pretty well so everything works great. In the bays they also have brushes and clamps to hold your floor mats. ***Update March 2025*** If you want to do the auto wash, this one is a little better than the other auto washes in the area. Some of the employees have been there for years and they do a great job. Hint: if you slip them a tip when you drive into the auto wash, they will usually spray your car off a little better.

Having recently purchased my new Tesla Model Y and knowing they are notorious for having very soft and easily damaged paint, I knew I wanted to protect it. I got to doing some research and found that paint protection film was going to be wildly expensive and have some draw backs. So eventually I got to talking to Jacob at auto protection detailing and he quickly introduced me to a fairly new product that I knew nothing about. Icon rocklear sounded great from the outset, but unfortunately there’s not much information about it online. But based on Jacob’s excitement about it, and the confidence he had of it I decided to have my car coated. Due to my busy schedule, the guys were able to take care of my install over the weekend which I am very grateful for and boy was it worth it! I picked up my car and it looked absolutely fantastic, though unfortunately it didn’t stay clean that way for long do to rain and dirt roads😂. But now that the rocklear has cured and I can clean it whenever I want it can shine like that day I picked it up! The overall experience with Jacob was great, and he is ever patient with my questions and very responsive. I am well and truly confident that he and the team will take care of me in the future whenever I need. I have been a bit of a detail person for a while and love to have my cars kept detailed and as clean as possible with living in Michigan. I had been researching coatings especially with the world of ceramic coatings. When I came across Auto Protection Detailing web site and found Icon Rocklear I knew I had hit gold!! I had Jacob quote me for applying Icon Rocklear to my new Lexus RX-350. He had to preform a huge task of removing the scratches on this brand new car from a previous attempt (by another company) to apply a paint protection product that went south. Both Jacob and Hunter had to spend an enormous amount of time polishing the car and not break through the clear coat to remove all the scratches. Once they completed the prep on the car it was coated with Rocklear and the care looks amazing. The best part is that I don't have to worry about the coating wearing off and having it recoated often. Jacob and Hunter spent a bunch of time talking with me explaining all the details of the product and their procedure for prep and application. It is great to have a small company that is focused on customer service and providing a superior product at an affordable price. Keep it up Jacob and Hunter, you did a great job. Thanks again.
